I have done a lot of diets over the years and none have really worked for me like Weight Watchers. I have been doing it for a year as of this week! I have lost a total of 23 pounds so far and my goal was 25. It has been very difficult towards the end to loose weight so I sort of just been maintaining my weight and have not been doing that good on my points so my last two pounds are probably my fault! Since the new year I have been busy with a lot going on so my working out and my eating has sort of slipped away from me! In the beginning I was seriously pretty neurotic about my eating and wouldn't go out to eat and drive Jeff crazy, but I honestly feel that is how you have to be to start.

I have since calmed down a little and now I am trying to get into a place where I don't have to be so crazy but can just maintain my lifestyle. I would really like to loose those two more pounds just to accomplish my goal I set for myself! I know my problem is not working out enough! As much as I love how i feel afterwards it is a struggle to get my butt out there to do it. After a long day at school the last thing I want to do is come home and go for a run. Running doesn't come easy to me so I typically do not like it nor do I want to go to the gym and wait to get on the treadmill behind the 20 other people coming after work. My goal for this year is to get in some sort of routine with working out. I am hoping to get a treadmill or something to go in our house with some weights so I can just do it home or it will be nice our new house is right down the street from our community gym which I will see it everyday on my way home!

I am thankful I did weight watchers as it has changed my mentality about food and what I eat. I know that I can treat myself to a TCBY every once in a while and not freak out! I will tell you the thing that has changed the most is that I do not drink very much anymore. I like to have the occasional drink when we go out with friends but it is such a waste of calories and it is just not worth it. I rather eat than have a beer or a glass of wine. I highly recommend it if anyone wants to try to loose those few pounds. It will change your life and will make you never want to gain that weight back again.

Furniture

Sorry I have been MIA lately but lots has been going on! We are still waiting to close on our house which who knows what will happen. I guess that is what happens when you get involved with a short sale. Everything is in line with the banks but we are waiting to get the finalized divorce papers from the seller so we are to just wait a week or so to do that then we can close. It is going to be a close call whether or not I will be able to have my sisters baby shower at the new house or we may have to move it to my moms house.

But on a happier note Jeff and I have been on a furniture shopping kick for the new abode! We actually just got home from doing a little shopping after church and we picked up two greats pieces! One being an antique looking mirror from Home Goods which was such a steal we couldn't walk past it. Not sure where I'm going to put it but it will fine a home somewhere.

We then ran into TJ Maxx completely against Jeff's will and he spotted this chair that would work great as a desk chair. He actually insisted on getting it! It has a little chip so we got some money of the price and it was marked for 200 bucks off so again how could we walk buy.

Our house is turning into a storage unit which is making me go absolutely insane but hopefully we will be out of here in a couple weeks so I feel like I have some breathing room. My entire entry way is full of boxes as well as our garage. So heaven forbid the house falls through we will be renting a storage unit until we find another house because I can not live like this.

We are going to have an upstairs loft at our new place so we figured we would paint our old coffee/side table white that could up stairs and we also painted a blue entry way table my dads friend gave us white and put some cute knobs on it.

For our anniversary Jeff surprised me with the one thing I wanted the most a dining room table..It is still in a box in my garage since it would be pointless to take out plus our little house we live in now would not have room for this big bulky table. We also got four chairs that are wood/upholstered to go with it. Then I am going to put two big wing back chairs at the end of the table.

We are slowly getting some furniture for the house, but we really are just ready to have some space to breath! We keep saying our prayers and have our fingers crossed that this whole process will speed up so we can close shortly. But in the meantime we just cleaning out old junk and I finally got Jeff to get rid of his college recliner that was absolutely gross! So we are making progress!

Next on the list in the a media stand for our tv but I'm having a hard time finding one I like. So we will see

2 years of wedded bliss

Today is our 2nd anniversary! Time sure does fly it seems like yesterday we were celebrating at our wedding with all of our family and friends! I am lucky to have such an amazing husband who I only continue to grow to love more and more. We have been together for eight years but married for two so it seems like we have celebrated all the big events in our life together!

We have an exciting year to come as I posted before about Jeff and I put an offer in on a house. We we are so excited to say that our offer was accepted and now we are just waiting to close!! So we have lots of craziness/excitement to come in the near future. I am throwing my sister's baby shower in March and I am planning to have it at our new house so we will see how that all goes! Lots on the plate but only good things!

Christmas Party

Jamie and I threw our second annual Christmas party which was fun and great to be with all of our friends and family. We threw it the Friday before Christmas since a lot of people were coming into town for the holiday weekend. It was at my sisters house again this year but hopefully fingers crossed we will have a house next year that we can have it there especially since Jamie will have baby Delainey next year.

NYE in Savannah

We had a great time in Savannah with four other couple. I think all we did was walk around, eat, and drink and repeated that every day for three days but I suppose that is what vacation is all about.
We went to dinner at this cute place underground called Alligator Soul. It was really pretty with brick walls and delicious.

We were at one of my favorite places in Savannah, Red Rocks which is a roof top bar on the top of the Bohemian hotel so pretty!!

This place was called sub doggery and we could not walk by as I love hotdogs. This is the menu and they had so many different ways to order a hot dog. It was absolutely delicious.

Here is Jeff's hotdog which is a heart attack on a roll, but it was the Load Potato with french fries and everything else under the sun.

Went on the trolley tour around Savannah to learn a little bit of history.

They close down city market and it is a just a big street party. It was lots of fun.

Santa Did Good

Christmas was wonderful in our house! We are blessed to have such wonderful parents who spoil us rotten and I have an amazing husband who completely didn't follow through on our deal. I am in the process of doing laundry and packing as we are off to Savannah tomorrow for New Years Eve weekend. We are headed up there with 4 other couples so it is bound to be a wonderful time and I sure am in need of a vacation like you would not believe.

Santa was good to us this year and gave us lots of clothes and goodies but here are a few of my favorite things we got....

We go on a scavenger hunt for one of our gifts and my dad knows we want furniture since we are in the process of buying a house. So I got a wrapped box and my dad told me to pull this string and when I did it was fishing line with cash just hooked on to it. It was quite creative how he did it but looked quite time consuming so I just had to keep fishing it out of the box to get it. So we have cash to decide what piece of furniture we are going to get next. =)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! I am in the process of baking cake balls for my sister and I's Christmas party tonight and wrapping last minute gifts!

We have had quite an eventful last couples weeks....

We all know my sister Jamie is pregnant and moving right along with baby Delainey! She is all belly it is crazy!

My best friend Allie who already has little precious Camdyn is pregnant with number two! She is due two months after my sister. Camdyn is going to be a great BIG sister!

My brother got engaged last Sunday...

Jeff's best friend from college got engaged Wednesday night...

Needless to say we are going to be quite busy in the future with weddings and babies! Wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Successful Weekend

Jeff and I had the most productive weekend this past weekend. Friday we started with our first woman's flag football game which we won. Jeff then rushed over to the high school football game where he is helping coach and they won their playoff game!
Saturday we decided to get all things Christmas marked off our list.
We sent out our Christmas cards

We went shopping and got everyone's present minus my brother who is the most difficult person to shop for by far! But we came home and Jeff watched as I wrapped all the gifts and put them under the tree. We ended the day at my mom and dads to homemade Chili and football! It just felt so great to have all these major things marked off our list.

I am counting down the days till Christmas break. 8 more! Then I can start to think about our Christmas party and what needs to be done for that!

I hope everyone is enjoying all the upcoming Holiday festivities. We seem to have one or two christmas parties every single weekend for the next couple of weeks. I'm off to watch Michael Buble Christmas special!

It's a Girl!

The Gender Reveal Party was a success last night. We had fun and my sister tricked us! Originally we were going to bite into cupcakes and there would be pink or blue frosting on the inside to let us know. So she has everyone take a cupcake and everyone bite into it but there was nothing! I was like tearing my cupcake apart. She then proceeds to tell us that she thought someone would mess with the cupcakes before they were suppose to so she decided to make cake balls instead so she went to get those. Everyone bit into it and it was a girl! I was beyond thrilled! I personally really wanted a girl but would have been happy for a boy .But there are so many more things I can do with a girl like dress her up, shop, teach her all sorts of things. I definitely want a boy down the road but I am sooo excited it is a girl!!! Her name is going to be Delainey Marie!

It is funny because everyone wrote on a chalkboard if that thought it was a boy or girl before we found out and everyone thought it was going to be a boy with the exception of my husband and David's mom which she switched her mind after seeing David's face.

Thanksgiving break could not have gotten here soon enough! Between field trips, Thanksgiving parties and just the kids being excited because any holiday is right around the corner I was ready for some down time! Jeff and I have lots to be thankful for and we can wait to spend the day with both of our families together! It is nice his parents come over since they live about an hour and half away to spend Thanksgiving at my parents house. It makes it easier so we don't have to split the day into two different places!

But we can not wait till tonight where we find out if we are going to have a niece or nephew at my sister's gender reveal party! She has known since Monday and she will absolutely not tell us. She wants to be fair to both sides of the family so everyone can find out at once but it its absolutely killing my mom and myself. I have been to work on a picture frame for her to turn into a chalkboard so we can survey what everyone guesses it will be. But I will be back in the near future to let everyone know because I'm sure I will be hitting up the stores in no times to get my little niece/nephew all the cute little things a baby needs.

Also other exciting news but nothing to jump through the roof about is Jeff and I put an offer on a house last week and it was accepted. Now we just have to wait since it is a short sale to see what the bank says. The bank could come back and accept our offer or the bank could come back and counter so who knows what the situation may be, so we are not getting to overly excited but I still am because the house is awesome. It is definitely a house we can grow into when we have kids in the future so say your prayers it works out. But Jeff continues to let me know that it may not work out so don't get my hopes up because we just have no idea how long the bank will take and what the bank will say.

I am actually taking Jeff this morning to go see it in person for the first time. It actually is quite a funny story how this whole situation went down. I was just browsing on the computer how I normally do for houses and I came across a house that just had a major drop in price and I was like no way it is a huge and looks really nice in the picture could this be true? Right in the area we have been looking it was impossible. So I handed the iPad over to Jeff and I said take a look. He was taken back as well and goes now this is the kind of deal I have been looking for. He said call our real estate agent and go look at it tomorrow. Jeff works till 6 at night so he was not going to be able to make it with me. But since I am the one that has all the opinions he knew he could trust what I thought. He told me that if it really looked like it did on the computer and it was in good condition to walk out and put an offer on it. I was kind of nervous to make sure a big decision without him there with me but I went last week to look at the house and was completely taken back. Everything was in great condition with everything we wanted minus wood floors but those can come down the road. I called Jeff and said we would be silly to pass it up so he talked to our real estate agent on the phone and we signed a contract. As I am walking out of the house to sign a contract there is another family walking into the house to see it. I am out in the driveway signing the contract and we were told the people were making an offer as well. I mean Jeff and I both knew that this house was not going to stay on the market very long it was way to nice for the price they were asking. So fast forward to two days later we get a call and they accepted our offer over the other peoples, we were thrilled!! So now we just have to wait for the bank, which who knows how long they will take could be a month or a couple and then they could counter us way higher than we offered it is just all up in the air. So say a little prayer it all works out because I am pretty much over looking for a house that I like and move in ready, that is in our price range, in the area we want!

So needless to say I am going this morning to take Jeff to see it. I am sure he is going to love it!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

I won the bet unknown to me way before than I thought. If you didnt read the previous post it was who can not eat out the longest. We went a week and I did so well to decline lunch dates with some girls I worked with so I would not eat out. Little did I know my husband was buying food at the gate gas station while he was pumping his gas so it would just look like he was buying gas, but I went to drive his car and found a hot dog container in the front seat! I caught him red handed hedid not last even one whole day on this bet and I thought I was doing so good! So I get to go buy this little beauty on Saturday.

We had a great long weekend this past weekend. I spent Friday morning in my classroom getting caught up on some things and then heading over to my sisters house to help her out with her gender reveal party. We also found a christmas party invite for this year which I just got home from getting printed so I will have to get to addressing envelopes. I also picked up Jeff and I's Christmas card which turned out cute. I was trying to talk him into getting our pictures taken so we would have a nice picture for the card and he completely nixed that idea. He hates pictures so I just had to use one from our cruise this summer.

Sunday we went to church and lunch with my family, hit up the town center to do a little shopping, and ended the day with dinner at my parents. So it was a great weekend of relaxing and it will be weird to go back to work for five days this week. We have been having lots of four day weeks but the light at the end of the tunnel is only two days next week then Thanksgiving Break! How times flies! I am loving all the Christmas music on the radio it is putting me in the spirit. I love it about as much as the 50% off at Hobby Lobby on all their Christmas goodies. I went and racked up some goodies for my tree this year.

We had a fabulous weekend up in Winston Salem. The weather was amazing during the day but got very chilly at night which I am not use to nor do I have the correct winter attire since I'm from Florida. We saw so many of our friends and Jeff got to reconnect with a lot of the guys he played with when he was there. They had the 2006 ACC championship team open up the gate for the team to run out so Jeff and a bunch of the guys got to go out on the field and welcome the team to the field so quite a few of the guys from his team came back for that. It was absolutely freezing during the game and we lost so it wasn't exactly what we wanted but it was a better game than I thought.
Of course I forgot my camera so I will have to wait to post pictures until I get some from a friend of mine. I have no idea how I made that seven hour drive every weekend because it was so long today I was antsy for the time that I wasn't sleeping, my poor husband drove the whole way with not much company. Jeff and I made a bet due to our boredom of sitting in the car and we said no eating out whatsoever until Thanksgiving. We love to eat out and do it quite often which may be a huge reason to my plateau I've hit in loosing weight. Whoever caves first the other person gets to buy one thing that is on their wish list. If we both are successful then we get to treat ourselves to a delicious dinner out. I think I will be able to hold out but I know it's going to be so hard for Jeff because the guys go out to lunch a lot at work. So we will see how the next couple of weeks go.

We also decided to book a trip to Vegas. Neither one of us have ever been and my brother and like 15 other people are going to celebrate his 30th birthday. We were kind of up in the air about going since we are in the search of buying a house and lots of things going on but we figured he will only turn 30 once and it will be a fun time with everyone going. So Vegas here we come in February. Any suggestions of where to eat or where to go are welcome. I am not a gambler at all. I would careless if I spent very much time in the casino at all, which may be an issue in Vegas as that is what everyone loves to do.

For other exciting news my sister is having a Gender Reveal party the day before Thanksgiving.

The anticipation is killing me to find out what sex the little peanut is, I am leaning towards a boy but would love to have a little niece. Either way we will be thrilled but I can't wait to get started planning her shower. I have been waiting to throw her one every since they said they were going to start trying to have kids so I am so excited. I promised Jeff this will be the last one I throw.
We got the baby a cute little Wake Forest onesie and bib this weekend as he/she have no choice but to be a wake fan for Uncle Jeff even if my brother in law is a die hard FSU fan.

North Carolina Bound

It is a three day weekend for Jeff and I. I am so thrilled to be able to have a long weekend. At school we have our Fall Festival which is pretty much a carnival for our school and church. Well they start setting up the rides on Monday which how can you control a seven year old when they see all sorts of exciting stimulating things in the parking lot every time we walk somewhere. Needless to say they were pretty crazy this week so I am thrilled its going to be over. Jeff and I are heading up to North Carolina tonight for a fun filled weekend. Wake Forest is playing Notre Dame in Winston Salem.

A fellow teacher as my school went to Notre Dame, so we have been leaving each other little notes to each other about who is going to win. So today I made a few posters with the wake mascot and had some black balloons and I took all my second grades over to his class to start cheering for wake and put the posters up on his board. It was pretty great. He then proceeded to get me back by having all of his sixth graders decorating my door with Notre Dame posters.
It is the first time Jeff and I have been able to make it back to Wake since Jeff's day of playing football there. We are excited to go back as we have so many amazing memories there. A lot of our friends are going back for this big weekend also so its going to be a small reunion with all of our Wake friends.
I am so excited for some cool weather which means scarfs, boots, and a beautiful day to tailgate.

FL/GA 2011

Happy Halloween. I am exhausted from all the festivities and sugar high kids in my classroom today. That I have all the lights off in my house and I'm trying to be really quiet when my door bell rings! I heard a kid through the window say I know they are home I see the TV on. I'm like oh boy but I just do not feel up to it, I'm horrible I know.

We had a great weekend with friends and family for FL/GA this past weekend. It always happens to fall on my sister's birthday which is nice as my uncle, aunt, cousins all come up for the occasion as they are huge Florida fans and my family are Georgia fans.
But this birthday is a little more special than others because we finally could let the cat out of the bag that my sister is PREGNANT! You would think I am the one pregnant I am beyond thrilled but she has been trying for a while and it has finally happened. She is like 3 1/2 months pregnant and it will be the first baby in our family so we are thrilled. I didn't even get her a present I got the baby his/her car seat. I told her the presents for her are long gone it's all about the kid. Here is a picture of her. She is so tiny she is going to be all belly.

We all went out to dinner for her birthday Friday and then on Saturday we had some of our friends over and just watched football all day had oysters,tons of food and just hung out. It was a great day because the UGA won!

Newman Wedding

I finally finished all report cards, had parent/teacher conferences and have a little bit of time to sit down and re-cap our friends wedding from this past weekend. We had a great time with all of our close friends. It was kind of nice because three out of the six bridesmaids were either married or engaged to three of the groomsmen. We have a close group of friends and it just so happens all of us girls were friends and we married a group of boys that were friends.

But here are some pictures that I have to tell you I stole from friends on FB and there are few sneak peaks from their photographer. I will have to post some more when she gets her professional pictures back. These pictures start from Friday at the rehearsal to the wedding and end with us taking a limo out to the bars. It was weekend full of fun and laughter and we are so happy for Chelsey and Richard. Jeff and I were honored to both be apart of it.

Deal of the Day

We have a great, fun, long and exhausting weekend. I am about to call it a night and go to bed. I will recap and post some pictures of the wedding festivities and fun when I get some down time. Today I went to lunch with two of my friends and thought since I am already at the town center I should stop into Ballard Designs to see what they have because Jeff and I are looking for some bedroom furniture which nothing is just catching my eye yet. So I was walking around and spotted this chair (not this fabric it is more of a darker grayish khakis color) I wish i could have it every time I get their magazine but can't reason with Jeff to buy it for its normal cost because we don't really need it. But when I saw it I saw a sale sign on it and figured it wasn't anything special prolly like 50 bucks off and then when I looked at the price tag and I about had a heart attack. I called Jeff told him about it sent him the picture and got the go ahead. It was 50% off. There was no way I could walk past without purchasing it. So we are lovely new owner of a chair. I told Jeff it will look great in our new house and he said what new house we don't have one I said well one day just thinking ahead! I couldn't fit in my car, so Jeff has to go pick it up after work tomorrow. I am thrilled, now if only I could get this lucky with some bedroom furniture!

How about them deacons! Jeff and I were so excited on Saturday for wake to beat fsu! It looks like they are going to have a great season. We are in the process of trying to find tickets for the notre dame game coming up in November and we will be making the road trip up there which I am excited to go back since we have so many years and memories spent there. We actually will be able to meet up with some of our close friends from wake so hopefully that all works out. I have been busy doing report cards this week because this weekend is Chelsey and Richards wedding that we are both in. I will try to remember to take some pictures as it's always fun when we get all of our friends together. I hope everyone has a great week!!

Weekend Recap

We had a great weekend and I finally have a minute to sit down and type about it. Jeff has been volunteering at the high school we went to so Friday night is now my shopping night. I hit up the mall and got a few things to add to my Jaguars wardrobe. (not that the Jags are any good) Then we went and met Allie and Brandon for a few drinks which lasted way past my bed time. Saturday Jeff and I woke up and we had an appointment with a builder. My dad came along because he is pretty great at building houses and he understands what I like. I trust his judgement when it comes to houses. We sat there for over an hour picking out a floor plan and going through each room of the house saying what I do want and don't want. The size of their closets are amazing. We went to look through a couple houses they are in the process of being built. I was sold completely based on the closet. We are waiting for her to price it all out and see what it comes out to be. We felt really good leaving that meeting and surprisingly Jeff is all about it. It seems logical to build because I can't really find anything I like and not saying I"m going to have everything I could dream of in the one I build I just have to come to the realization its my first house and I can add things to it down the road. There are lots of things we can do that we don't need to pay an arm and a leg to a builder to do for us. So we are anticipating that e-mail to come.

Jeff and I then took a walk up to the football fields in our neighborhood because the weather was beautiful and we watched Brandon coach his little pop warner football team. We then headed out to dinner with my sister, her husband, and Brandon to watch the Flordia Gators get killed. Sorry to all those gator fans but I am definitely not and it was great to watch them get beat.

Sunday we woke up bright and early and off to tailgate for the Jaguars game. It was absolutely beautiful for the most part. It started heating up a little in the game. Especially since we have 8 seats in a row and everyone is 250 lbs plus. Ha those seats are not made for big boys. I tend to sit on the end because I can not stand having people touch me when Im hot. It's quite humorous to watch all of them squeeze in there. We then ended the weekend with dinner with Allie, Brandon and baby Camdyn who was quite precious especially those silver glitter shoes.

I have to tell you this isn't a healthy weight watchers recipe but Jeff is obsessed with it and it's super easy. Chicken Parmesan in the crock pot. I got it off the blog, A year of Slow Cooking.

Here's the recipe

The Ingredients:

--2-4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
--1/2 cup bread crumbs
--1/4 cup parmesan cheese
--1/2 t Italian Seasoning
--1/4 t black pepper
--1/4 t kosher salt
--1 T olive oil
--1 beaten egg
--sliced mozzarella cheese
--favorite jarred marinara sauce

The Directions:

--spread the 1 T of olive oil into the bottom of your crockpot stoneware insert
--whip the egg with a fork in a separate bowl
--mix the bread crumbs with the seasonings and the parmesan cheese in another separate dish
--dip the chicken into the egg, then into the bread crumb mixture, coating both sides with crumbs, cheese and seasonings
--place the chicken breast pieces in the bottom of the crock
--layer 2-3 slices of mozzarella cheese on top

--cover with entire jar of marinara sauce
--close lid and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4. If your chicken is still frozen, it will take longer.

I serve it with pasta, but it's up to you. I definitely recommend it and it is extremely easy.

I am in need of a vacation! I apologize for my lack of blogging but I have been busy with work and lots of things going on. Jeff and I have been looking for houses. I feel like I have seen way to many houses and none of them are really impressing me enough to purchase. We were planning on purchasing within the next year so we started just casually looking, but my cousin who is getting married in June is looking at doing her residency for med school at a hospital in Jacksonville. So her and her soon to be hubby would like to rent the house Jeff and I are in from my parents while she is here for three years which makes sense. But that means if they do that then Jeff and I need to get a house. I obviously will not be moving out unless I find something I love (sorry Melis, who I'm sure is reading this) but I really have been looking hard and coming up short. Lately Jeff and I have been talking and my dad brought up the idea of building a house which I didn't think was really an option for our starter house. But when I started looking into it, it didn't seem like such a bad idea. So this weekend Jeff, my dad, and I are going to meet with a local builder to see our options. We found a plan we like and all the specs look to good to be true so I'm wondering what the catch is so we will see how it goes on Saturday! It stresses me out and I'm over the process of looking constantly on the internet and come up with nothing.

I keep telling Jeff we need to go on a mini vacation. I have been stalking flights to Chicago to see if they are reasonable but they are crazy expensive right now as is everywhere else. The next trip Jeff and I have planned is New Year's Eve to Savannah with some friends and that seems like forever away!!

If only things could be easy! On a positive note I'm happy it's finally Fall. I got the Fall decorations out and the pumpkin patch candle burning every night. If only the weather would start to cool down. I can't wait to wear my authentic boots my brother bought us out in Oklahoma with some tights and a scarf!

Did anyone see Kelsey Grammar's mountain house in Colorado on the last episode. It was pretty amazing. I am not to big on cold weather, but my sister is trying to get me to go snow skiing but I sure wouldn't mind sitting in the hot tub at this house and staying for a week or two.

You wouldn't thinking an old wooden ladder would be something to useful inside your outside. But I love how they look and I am in search of one. I have found quite a few on the internet I can buy, but they cost quite a bit to ship. So my goal is to find one in an antique store hopefully soon or else I will just order one. I am going to use it to hang out blankets on in our living room. Jeff and I both have a blanket on every time we sit down on the couch then they just are either on the floor or the couch and it drives me crazy. So I figured this would be a great way to hold our blankets but also look good just like below..

It's the Weekend!

It was only a four day week but man was I ready for the weekend! We have lots of things planned for this weekend so it's going to be a busy one. Last night I went to dinner with some of the mama's to have a late birthday dinner with them. It was great to catch up and start thinking our next football season already starts in less than three months.
Most importantly little Camdyn is turning one, my best friends baby girl. It is hard to believe how fast this year went but today we are going to celebrate at an everything pink birthday party. Here are some pictures of her over the year she is such a big girl now. She is not even Jeff and I's child, but we love that little girl like she is. She is one of the best little babies to be around. So we can't wait to celebrate with her today.

Couples Shower Recap

We had a blast at Richard and Chelsey's couples shower. After all the planning it really turned out great with 40 of their closest friends and family. Here are a few pictures I took. I forgot some of the closer up details like the napkins with their names and cups but we are lucky I even have any to show you.

The picture is blurry but you can sort of see the cups. They had a little starfish and said Richard and Chelsey's Stock the Bar Shower August 27,2011. Everyone got to bring them home if they wanted.

The detail in the cupcake toppers was incredible. As were the beach cookies. I could never have the patience to do it myself, but they turned out fantastic.

WW Chicken Pot Pie

So Jeff and I eat a lot of weight watchers recipes and this one is one of our favorites. The major difference is the fat free milk instead of heavy cream. yes it probably does not taste as rich and delicious but its friendly for your diet. I am even making it tonight for dinner!

Here is the recipe...

Ingredients
1 pound(s) uncooked boneless skinless chicken breast
2 cup(s) water
1/2 cup(s) table wine, dry white
2 cube(s) chicken bouillon cube, crumbled
2 medium carrot(s), chopped
1 cup(s) frozen green peas
2 tsp olive oil
1 medium onion(s), chopped
3 Tbsp white all-purpose flour
5 oz fat-free evaporated milk
15 1/4 oz canned white corn, drained
6 sheet(s) phyllo dough
Instructions
Place chicken, water, wine and bouillon cubes in a medium pan. Bring to a boil, lower heat and cook gently, uncovered for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Set aside one cup of broth and chop chicken into chunks.

Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC). Coat a deep 8-inch (20cm) pie dish with cooking spray.

Microwave carrots and peas for 2 minutes. Drain. Heat oil in a medium nonstick pan, add onions and cook until soft. Stir in flour and cook over low heat for 2 minutes.

Remove pan from heat and stir in milk and reserved broth. Return to heat and cook, stirring, until mixture boils and thickens. Add carrots, peas, chicken and corn.

Pour chicken into prepared dish. Layer sheets of phyllo over pie, trim edges and press down firmly to seal. Lightly coat with cooking spray. Bake for 10 minutes, lower temperature to 350ºF (180ºC) and bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes more.

Well this is one of the best weeks of the year! Wednesday is my moms bday, thursday is my parents 32nd wedding anniversary, Sunday is my birthday and to tack onto that this year we are throwing a party for our friends on Saturday. We have a slightly packed but fun filled week. Yesterday Jeff and I made trips to my parents house to bring all the goodies for the party over. I know my guest bedroom is probably thrilled to get all that stuff out of there. I don't have that much time to set up next weekend so I'm going to do what I can a little each day. A lot of the stuff like the tables, chairs, flowers won't be coming till Friday and Saturday. I will promise to take pictures. I originally had my friends wedding photographer comin to the party to take pictures but she got a last minute wedding so I guess I will just have to remember to take pictures. I hope everyone has a great week! I know we will!

**Fingers crossed this Tropical Storm Irene turns or it's going to be an interesting shower which is inside and outside. Ha only one more thing to worry about. Say a little prayer for me.

We are home from our vacation! We had a great time but I have lots of laundry and picking up to do! I go back to work on Tuesday, so I will have to do a recap of our vacation another day! But while we were on vacation I sent out the invites for the Couples Shower I am throwing in a couple of weeks for our friends. I had MEllen Designs, who I used for quite a few things for my wedding, make some custom invites for me so it would fit the theme of the party perfectly. I wanted it to be beachy which Chelsey loves, but also include Richard who is a southern country boy at heart. I think they turned out great. I blurred some of the information out at the bottom but you can see most of it!

Off to the Keys

My mom, sister and I are off to Key West to have some fun. It just happens to be that my best friend Allie and her family are down there at the same time. So I'm excited to do some shopping, get some sun and have a little fun at night.

Then we are heading to Islamorada where my Uncles house is to meet up with 13 other family members for mini lobster season. My dad and Jeff are trailering the boat down on Saturday, my brother flies in from Oklahoma on Friday and then all my cousins etc come.

We will be catching a lot of these!

Well let me rephrase my cousins and my uncle and maybe Jeff will be catching a lot of these. My uncle and mom have been doing this with their parents since they were little kids. And we literally get our limit of lobster within 15 minutes the first morning its crazy. They know where all the good spots are and we scout the day before and wake up at like 4 in the morning to go get our spot before anyone else does. (insane if you ask me) We come up with like 100 lobster because each person on the boat gets a max of 6. This is Jeff's first time coming because he normally was up playing football during this time and it is a true treat. My family is very stubborn and doesn't hold anything back and when we have 16 people in one house it tends to get a little crazy. But we will also be going fishing for mahi and all sorts of stuff so it will be a good time.

Hopefully I come back with a tan and nice and relaxed! I will be back in 10 days. It's a little bittersweet because we get back on a Saturday and teachers go back to school that following Tuesday. Where did the summer go?

Hoosier Mama Cruise 2011

Ok so if you have been reading my blog you will remember my posts in the spring time about my ladies flag football team called the Hoosier Mamas. My husband and another guy were the coaches and we won the championship. So went on a cruise to celebrate our winning season. Here are some pictures from our trip this past weekend. We had a lot of fun and sure ate and drank a whole bunch. I have got to get back to my dieting after that weekend. We went to Nassau and Coco Cay Bahamas. Lots of good memories. I have not stopped sleeping since yesterday morning at 10 am until today at 11 am with the exception of waking up to eat.

Before we boarded the cruise we went to this restaurant to have some drinks and appetizers. Here are boys who came with us. The two big boys on the left, one being my husband and the other who use to be his football coach in high school but now they are great friends are our coaches!

We got back from our cruise today and I just woke up from my first nap and I will probably be heading back to the couch to sleep some more. We had lots of fun with our friends, but just not a lot of sleep. I will post all about our cruise when I get sometime.
If you noticed my design is different with a different name. Jeff and I aren't really newlyweds anymore so the Adventures of a newlywed really didn't fit this blog anymore. I came up with Olive Juice purely by a friends photographer is named this and I fell in love with it, so yes I did not come up with it on my own. Mouth olive juice to your husband or kids and see what they think you said and that will explain it all! (they should think you said I love you)

USA!

We are two days away from heading out on vacation which means my list of things to do is about a mile long. Hubs thinks since he is working and I'm not means just keep tacking on what he would like me to do before he heads out the door for work.

So in between doing laundry, getting booze for the cruise, running to the grocery store, picking up dry cleaning, mall to find Jeff a tie for the captains dinner, and getting my nails done, you will find me in front of the TV at 11:30!
I have to admit I do not really like soccer (sorry to those who that offends) but it's slightly boring until about the last 5 minutes, but Jeff and I have been watching the women's USA team and I have totally enjoyed it. Especially last weeks game that went into penalty kicks which was exciting and nerve racking. GO USA!

New Do!

I was tired of my old blog design so I decided to freshen it up with a freebie from Tenille. I am currently on the wait list to get a custom one from Sweet Simplicity in the future so this will do for now until she has some time to get my custom design done.

As for my day.. I took my car to get an oil change and tire rotation and a couple hours later I got a call with a list of things that needed to be repaired. I didn't believe it at first because they normally take you for a joy ride at auto shops so I said my husband will be calling you back. So Jeff calls me after he talked to them and said I really did need some of it but not all of it. So what was going to be a 20 dollar oil change turned into hundreds of dollars! This is a picture to explain how I was feeling

Then I got over it and said oh the rain stopped for a little while let me go for a run. I walk out my front door and there are two teenagers badgering me to buy fish and steak out of their beat up truck. I said no thank you and they continued to hound me I was like no thanks and kept walking. About a mile into the run the sky decided to open back up and it was torrential down pour! It actually felt great but I felt like God was saying cool it about the car and move on. So I proceeded to run another mile soaking wet which was a real joy!

4th of July Recap

I have to say that I have not had the strength nor time to sit down and write a post after a weekend full of fun. Our fourth of July weekend we were on the constant go so it is nice to just sit down and do absolutely nothing.
Friday night we went out on the boat and had dinner with some friends. Saturday I woke up early to run then go get my nails done with Chelsey before we headed over to the 50th birthday party. The party was an absolute blast. Live band, drinks, friends, butt quarters (it was hilarious), corn hole, rolling ritas, a whole pig to eat, and lots of dancing is the best I can describe it.
Sunday we got up and met some friends at the beach to enjoy the sun and ended with a cook out at Allie and Brandon's.
Monday we got up and headed out onto the boat with 5 of our friends and spent the entire day just floating on the river, tubing, and enjoying the sun. We ended the night watching fireworks on the water. Lots of fun times but I have to say I was completely exhausted after all of it.

Yesterday was my Dad's birthday and tonight we celebrated it. So Happy Birthday Dad I love you!! For the next week and half I am going to be hitting the gym and eating healthy as we prepare for our cruise next weekend. Jeff and I are going to compete against each other and see who can loose 5 pounds in the next 8 days. Fingers crossed for me!

4th of July

I love the festivities that come along with 4th of July. It also makes me remember my grandfather who passed away as that is his birthday and my dad's birthday is July 5th so there are lots of things to celebrate. We have a busy weekend and I will be sure to take pictures. Our friends dad is turning 50 and they are having a huge 4th of July/birthday celebration on Saturday at their house. It will be a great time and I will take some pictures of our weekend with friends and family. I hope everyone has a safe and blessed 4th of July.

Oklahoma Recap

It's sad to admit, but we did not take one picture while we were out in Oklahoma. My sister and I both forgot our cameras and my brother did not have one!

Thursday we arrived and my brother took us to a great restaurant called The Ranch, it is very similar to Ruth's Chris if your familiar with that. It was absolutely delicious! Then we went to a local bar to watch a concert, Stoney Larue. My brother really likes them. It was so interesting as hot as it was out in Oklahoma this place did not have any air condition barely. We stood in front of the fan the entire night, but had a good time.

Friday we woke up and went to this BBQ place called Leo's by the look of the outside of the building it looked pretty scary, but my brother reassured me as this was on the show Diners Drive Ins and Dives on the food network channel. They had an interesting assortment of food and I am not much to venture out like my sister does, so I just had a beef brisket sandwich which was great. Every meal was served with some sort of cake with strawberries on top which was out of this world.
I told my brother since I was out in Oklahoma that I wanted to get some authentic boots. I do have some boots at home but they are from target and aren't the real deal. So off to the store we went and it was amazing the rows and rows of boots they had in all different designs and colors. I should have took a picture of that because down in Jacksonville we don't have to many places like that other than Western World, but it didn't even compare. But my sister and I both found some boots and I love them!

Saturday my brother and his girlfriend had a party at their house for my sister and I. We got to meet 30 or 40 of their friends and co workers so it was nice. We just hung by the pool and enjoyed delicious food. We had a great time in Oklahoma. It was a lot more than I expected and it was great to see my brother!

Oklahoma Bound

Hubs and I had a great little day together. Jeff took a half day off from work because I am heading out of town for the weekend with my sister to visit our brother in Oklahoma. He moved out there last year as he got a job with the oil industry. He seems to have quite a few fun things planned for us to do this weekend so we are excited. So Jeff and I went to the town center for some lunch and looking around and then we went to watch Hangover 2. I have to say that I was not that impressed with the movie. Yes, there definitely are some funny parts but it wasn't anything special to me. We then stopped by home depot to pick up some goodies for Jeff.

I am so proud of my husband. He kicks butt at work and works so hard and it has paid off! He got a bonus today for selling so much so I am super proud of him. He called me to tell me this first and I was super excited and then said hey let's by Jaguar season tickets. It's nice since Jeff does work for the company that bought naming rights to the stadium they get a small discount. We were debating it but I was sort of up in the air as I am not sure I will be making it to all the games,but I said what the heck since I know Jeff is such a die hard fan (not sure why since we never win, but he would kill me if he knew i wrote that) and I admit I tend to have fun tailgating and eating stadium hot dogs! So our Sundays during the fall will be fun of tailgates and football.

Something's Gotta Give

Men should not be allowed to go the grocery store! I was not feeling to great tonight, so I had Jeff run up to the store to get me some water as I drank the rest of our bottled water. One thing on his list you would think he would be able to handle it. He comes home with countless bottles of gatorade and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. There is a reason I do not have chips, ice creams, cookies or any other deliciousness in my house as I have 0 self control. Note to self never ask Jeff to go run an errand for me!

There are so many houses in movies/tv shows that I just fall in love with like Father of the Bride, Mr and Mrs. Smith, The Notebook, Proposal, Secretariat, The Parent Trap, Brother & Sisters, Gilmore Girls and many many more.

I have to say one house that I just absolutely love so many things about is from the moving Somethings Gotta Give. Erica's bedroom with the bay windows where her desk is probably one of my favorite things, but check out some of these photos.

Upside of being a teacher you get summer off, downside of being a teacher is you get the summer off! I have so much free time and I get bored pretty quickly. There are only so many times one person can work out a day. So what I do best is go shopping, which my husband wants to strangle me when I do.

I have got all sorts of goods for my friends couple shower online. Here is a little part of one things I really looking forward to getting that I just love. I will post pictures after the shower of it as it's going to be pretty awesome.

I also picked up a new bathing suit and cover up for our cruise on Victoria Secret's website today as everything is on sale.

I am ready for some of our vacations to get here! Next week I am off to see my brother and then we are on the go constantly after that, so I can't wait!!

Jeff and I had a fun filled weekend and I finally recovered from my lack of sleep today! It is our friend Leslie's birthday today, but we celebrated it on Saturday. So a few girls went out to the beach just to relax in the sun and then we celebrated all night long into the wee hours of the night. This is extremely not the norm for Jeff and I to stay out like our good old college days, so man did I sleep at least half of the day on Sunday and still was exhausted. But we had a lot of fun and I hope you have a wonderful birthday Les!!

Skinny Girl Margarita

I love me some margaritas, but when I started weight watchers a couple months back i realized that margaritas were no longer going to be apart of my life as they are 9 points. That is close to half of my day worth of points on one drink. I love watching Bethenny's shows so i heard of skinny girl margaritas and figured it would be something I would like, but never have gone out and bought it. Well I did and I think its absolutely delicious and get this for 8 oz it is only 2 points! I think I am in love!!

It if officially Summer for me! woo hoo! I have to admit it was hard to say bye to my kids yesterday. It was my first year of teaching with my own class, so the kids made me this cute scrapbook with pictures and they each decorated a page with a poem, or pictures etc. My room mom wrote this poem...

I had a great year but I am definitely super excited that summer is here. I am going to enjoy sleeping in, laying out, working out and hanging with friends. My sister and I are flying out to see my brother in three weeks which is the start of a couple trips for me, so I have set a goal to loose some weight by then so I will be working out non stop and I am giving up drinking for the next three weeks as that tends to be a huge issue for me on the weekends.

I am off to 8th grade graduation at our school! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Organic Bloom Frames

Look what Jeff picked up for me today!! My organic bloom frames finally came in!! We are still without the pictures to go in them, but the photographer I ordered the frames from is working on it. For the big frame we got a picture of Jeff and I at the wedding and then for the smaller one is the picture of me walking up the steps in front of the church. I didn't pick out the frame color to match well with the walls in the house we are renting from my parents. I picked what I like and will like to be in my own house one day, but for now it will just have to work on the yellow walls. But they are quite amazing and I will definitely be ordering some more in the future.

We had an exciting and busy past couple of days filled with friends and lots of going out, (not so good for my dieting) but it was well worth the celebration!

Thursday night there was about 40 of us who were all secretly awaiting our friends Ashley and Carlton as Carlton was going to propose. Ash was so excited and it was neat to have everyone there to celebrate with afterwards. When they showed up he did it immediately and then everyone had a rose and we all walked up to hug Ashley and handed her a rose. So by the end of it she had a huge amount of flowers. We are so happy for them and love them lots!

We went to Jeff's cousins wedding last night and outside the place they had it was beautiful. It was on the river and it was so nice out. The inside is an old mansion so its all broken down into little rooms, which makes it hard for everyone to be together at a wedding. But it was nice to see lots of Jeffs family. Weekend Plans

My Spring Break is coming to an end but I have enjoyed it so much. Yesterday I went to the beach with some girls I work with and enjoyed the sun but it was a little to windy for my liking. Then we went out on our friend Carlton's boat and just cruised around and then ended up at a restaurant on the water for drinks. It was my brother-in-laws 30th birthday and he was with us so we went out and celebrated with all of our friends way past my normal bed time. I am exhausted.

I think today Saturday April 30th is a popular wedding date because I know three different people just from around here getting married today. We are going to Jeff's cousins wedding which is suppose to be pretty over the top which I will love so I am excited to see what its going to be like. Jeff's parents are coming over to stay with us so it should be a good time. I will be sure to take pictures if its nice so I can share it with you.

I went and met with Shea who is going to help me do my friends couple shower in August and we sat for over an hour just chatting and discussing weddings, flowers and decor. Everything that both of us love. When I walked out of there we had so many great things planned for their shower that I am so excited for it. But I can not give any details as I know Chelsey, the bride to be reads my blog! Sorry Chels!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. We are off to the gym to prepare for the drinks and food we are going to be eating tonight at this wedding!

By the way I hope I don't offend anyone, but I was not impressed with this Royal Wedding. I DVRed it and I went through it in like 10 minutes. Nothing was "royal" about it to me. I was expecting flowers galore and all sorts of things and just have huge trees inside does not do it for me. Kate looked great although her dress was pretty understated for my taste as if I was going to be a princess I would go all out. I'm sure some of you are thinking I am crazy!

Smoothie

Since I started dieting I have probably have a smoothie a day because its filling and healthy. My sister turned me on to Yoplait Smoothies. You can find them in the frozen food section and they already have all the frozen fruit and little yogurt pieces in a package so you just add skim milk and blend it up. Its a delicious smoothie but yet still healthy. I highly recommend trying it if you like smoothies. They have a bunch of different flavors but I do Strawberry Banana.

We have had a great weekend full of friends, sun and hanging out. Friday we went out and celebrated my brother-in-laws 30th birthday at the beach. Saturday we spent the entire day at the beach and man did we get burned and are paying for the countless hours in the sun! We then took the boat for a late night ride to a restaurant and had dinner on the water with a few people. Today we got up bright and early for Easter Church then out to brunch with the family. I love Easter and spending time with the family.
We got our Easter baskets full of goodies last night from my parents, we got a new cooler, work out clothes, bathing suit cover ups, Jeff got a bunch of stuff for the boat and fishing. But my husband the Easter bunny got me the Tory Burch purse I have been wanting. Love it!

Spring Break!

I am so excited ready for 11 days of pure bliss filled with the sun, gym and a whole lot of relaxation! I will be starting my weekend off with drinks with some of co-teachers to celebrate. I have absolutely nothing planned all Spring Break except for catching up on a few dr appointments, beach, and I am meeting with a florist for my friends couples shower in a couple of months just to make sure that I get her before she books up. Being a teacher definitely has it perks, so I am off to enjoy doing a whole lot of nothing.

Weekend Recap!

We had a great weekend. I finally started feeling better. Friday I took off from work to get a few things done and went out to search for bedroom furniture. I did not get anything for our bedroom, but I did come home from an antique shop with a bedside table for our guest bedroom and a entry way table for one day when I have somewhere to put it. I couldn't pass them up. The store called them shabby chic, but I love any white table that looks rustic. Jeff came in and said oh I really like those are you going to refinish them and I said no jeff that is what they are suppose to look like and he sort of just looked at me weird and walked away.

Friday night we went out and had a nice dinner just the two of us and talked about buying a house and what we wanted in the next year or two. We both had a little bit of different ideas, but I think Jeff swayed me to side with him for now or until I find the perfect house! Saturday we went to a friends oyster roast and we got to play with Camdyn. She was all smiles.

We had family dinner last night and we all got out calendars together to see what our summer will be like since its already here in a month. My mom, sister, and I are all teachers so it works out pretty nicely in the summertime. But looking through from June to the start of school again I will only be home three weekends the entire summer. Lots to look forward to in the next couple of months. I will settle just for my Spring Break to get here, 7 days!!

My weekend starts today! As our school year is winding down I got to take one of my personal days so I am going to take full advantage of my day off with catching up on some appointments! We got our bed finally and it turned out better than we thought. It's huge and beautiful so now Jeff and I will be spending the weekend looking for some bedroom furniture. I do not like a matching bedroom furniture, so I am going to start with bedside tables and lamps and I have my eye on a few so we will see what we end up with.

Saturday Jeff and I have an appointment with our realtor to look at five houses they all look really great online so we will see if that is the case in real life! Fingers crossed because I am about tired of looking for a house and if we don't find something soon I think I will just give up looking and just let it happen down the road. its exhausting!

I am so ready for Easter to be here which means my Spring Break is here as well!

We had a great weekend celebrating Jeff's birthday with family and friends. Today is his actual birthday but we celebrated yesterday with both of our families and some of our close friends. We had a cookout then all of us headed up to a local restaurant to celebrate a little more. Of course I am no good at taking pictures so here are the only few I took.

The Fifth Quarter

I am not sure if you have heard of the movie that was released last weekend called the Fifth Quarter. I believe it is only really playing in movie theaters in the south. It is a low rent movie that seemed more like a good lifetime movie but it is based off of a true story. I recommend watching the trailer. Any how the story is about a wake forest football player, Jon Abbate, whose brother passed away and how he came back and over came his trials and tribulations. Then it goes on to show wake's winning season etc. It was neat because it was when Jeff played football there so we knew all of the characters in the movies and they used the actual football clips of the games which Jeff was in.

It definitely is a movie we will purchase to keep and show our kids since it recaps all the highlights of that winning season and has a great christian based story line. It just so happened that during the ACC championship game clip they were scanning the crowd showing people cheering after we won and there was myself and my friend cheering in the pouring rain. I about died when we were at the movies on Sunday because there I am soaking wet, hair all frizzy but at least we made the movie! I leaned over to Jeff and said now we definitely can buy it!

It brought back a lot of good memories that we had during the five football seasons Jeff was at wake and sort of made us miss it, we were blessed he was apart of such a great program but thankful we are together now and not doing long distance!

Mac n Cheese

I am a macaroni and cheese fanatic. We all know it's about as healthy as fried food, so I tried out this weight watchers recipe of mac n cheese. It was not as tasty as the real thing, but it is a pretty good!!

Ingredients
2 spray(s) cooking spray
12 oz uncooked pasta, gemelli or other twisted pasta (about 2 1/2 cups)
1/8 tsp table salt, for pasta cooking water
10 oz broccoli, small florets (about 2 1/2 cups)
1 tsp butter
1/3 cup(s) fresh bread crumbs
3 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese, divided
2 1/2 cup(s) fat-free skim milk
1/3 cup(s) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup(s) onion(s), diced
1 cup(s) low-fat shredded cheddar cheese, sharp-variety
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 1/2 tsp table salt
1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Coat a shallow 2-quart baking dish with cooking spray.

Cook pasta in a large pot of lightly salted boiling water according to package directions, adding broccoli to water 3 minutes before pasta will be done; drain pasta and broccoli and return to pot.

Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; add bread crumbs and cook, stirring often, until light golden, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer crumbs to a small bowl; stir in 1 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese and set aside.

In same saucepan (wipe clean if necessary), whisk together milk and flour until blended; add onion. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, whisking frequently. Reduce heat to low and simmer until thickened, about 2 minutes.

Remove from heat and whisk in cheddar cheese, mustard, salt, pepper and remaining 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese. Pour over cooked, drained pasta and broccoli; toss to mix and coat.

Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle top evenly with bread crumbs. Bake until bubbly at edges, about 20 to 25 minutes. Divide into 8 pieces and serve. Yields 1 piece per serving.

I am on the search for some good bedding to go along with our new headboard. I just want simple but comfy. Here are some of my choices I'm liking so far, but I'm still on the search. Let me know if you have any good ideas of where I should look!

This past weekend Jeff and I went to go visit some friends in Tampa just to hang and have a good time. We took a little trip over to ikea to see what they had to offer. We bought some curtains for such a steal. 20 bucks for a pair of grommet curtains. They aren't the highest quality, but they will work for our living room for now. I also found two dining room chairs that I loved but have no where to put them so Jeff talked me out of it. It is so cheap for everything in that place its tempting not to buy so much.

I had a long week at work for numerous amount of reasons so I am happy its Friday! I have football tonight with my Mamas then tomorrow Jeff and I are going to Tampa to visit our friends Richard and Chelsey.

They are having a strawberry festival down there and we have not yet been down to visit them since they moved. We figured it would be a nice little getaway for a day or two to just relax and spend some time with friends. So I will be back next week! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

I am now obsessed with this nail polish. It is a gel nail polish that way better than the norm. its $30 but well worth it. you put your hands under UV rays during a three step process and it is dry,smooth, and hard. I never get manicures or my nails painted because its a waste of money when I work with 8 year olds all day doing crafts etc. So we will see how these hold up in the classroom, but I love it so far. There are quite a few different colors to choose from too!

Better Late than Never

I am a little late posting about my weekend from a week ago, but better late than never! Saturday we had little baby Camdyn's baptism and a luncheon to celebrate. She looked beautiful and did not even cry a bit when they baptized her. She was perfect! We then went to Maggianos and ate delicious food and just hung out with some of friends.

Jeff and I then had to head downtown to pick up my race packet because the night morning was my half marathon.

I had to wake up at like 4:30 to go meet girls I work with and get down there. It was freezing and we got there entirely to early! I was not a happy camper just standing around in the freezing cold. Finally they shot the gun and we were off for 13.1 miles. It was amazing how many survivors and people were there to support you on both sides of the road for the entire thing. They had live bands at different points of the race also. It really made the 13.1 miles go by quicker than you thought. All in all I had a great time and finished my first half marathon. I will definitely be doing it again and hopefully be running a little more of it next year.
