Another Birthday!

I am so thankful for a four day weekend! This past week has been complete chaos with the kids with Valentines Day parties etc. I am just so ready to catch up on sleep, clean the house and hang out with the husband. I think we are going to start the weekend off with our weekly Thursday night meal, La Napolera, which is the best mexican food ever.

I wanted to say Happy Birthday to one of my close friends Elizabeth. We have been friends since high school and now are all grown up. She has so many great things coming her way with a new job, new apartment and a birthday. I am excited to see where the future takes her. So liz wish you all the best and more. Love you

I am off to relax. Have a great weekend

Wine and Cheese

Well I was definitely pleased with the results of the super bowl not that I cared much, as I decided to step into another room from all the football craziness and watch Platinum weddings at 9. Although I was so disappointed with that wedding. Nothing looked platinum about it. I thought it was pretty lame to be honest. But anyways yay Saints! With that said yes I am an old married working woman so I have to go to bed quite early and staying up that late for the game was way past my bedtime. I am completely exhausted today at school. I just wanted to tell my kids to be quiet and read a book but yet somehow or another we made it through the day. I am so excited we have Friday off and the upcoming Monday. You have no idea how thrilled I am! I have to get my name changed on all my stuff and Jeff and I have to get our banks figured out so thats what I will be doing on my day off but much better than being with 16 8 year olds for the day.

Jeff and I got sooo much awesome stuff for our wedding and I have always wanted to have girls night like a wine and cheese party and just get together. Well I think I have all the stuff so one of these days I am just going to get it together and throw a little party for my few girl friends that I have. But if you go on pottery barn they have a wine and cheese party and suggestions which you should have and I just so happen to got most of it for the wedding here are some of the things.

I love this dome also. I am using it right now to keep my pumpkin muffins fresh. it is so great to have.

One of my girls from Wake got me this cute ice bucket with a G on it for one of my showers

Although I am strictly a white wine drinker, mainly chardonnay, I am obsessed with huge wine glasses which are meant from red wine. but when i come home from work I always grab my huge wine glass and have glass of chardonnay.

I just love these cute little cheese signs i cant wait to use!

I guess one of these days I will get around to it when I have time!

Wood Floors!

I have been planning my house for who knows how long and I know one thing for sure. We will have wood floors in every room of our house one day when we get one except the bathrooms. I want dark wood almost to a black its so amazing looking.

One of my favorite shows to watch is Brothers and Sisters and when I saw Nora's kitchen on that show I fell in love. I found pictures and will be saving them until I build my own house and will have the exact same thing. I think it is so beautiful. Check out the floors in the pictures!

One day when I have my little girl her nursery will look just like this, but again check the floors out. Amazing!

XOXO

How cute are these for a Valentines Day party. I just love them!

Honeymoon

Our honeymoon was a blast and so relaxing. We could have spent weeks there. The service and food was absolutely amazing. We stayed at Beaches in Turks and Caicos which was suppose to have one of the best beaches in the world and it truly did. It was amazing to look at every day. I actually did not mind getting in the water it was so crystal clear. Our resort was so huge and beautiful. The whole reason I chose it was because it was all inclusive food and booze and they have 16 different restaurants with lots of choices for Jeff. The food was beyond amazing. Jeff and I ate so much it was heavenly. They had a water park lots of sail boats and snorkeling for you to do. We hit up the spa and did couples massages. It was really just so amazing to relax after all the craziness of the wedding and just be together. Here are a few pictures of us and the resort. I highly recommend going to Turks and Caicos for a vacation definitely worth it. We will be going back for sure.

New Blog Design

I gave the blog a little re-vamp so its a little different. Figured since I wasn't planning my wedding anymore it shouldn't be something old or something new. Its now the adventures of jeff and I being newlyweds and the journey we are about to take which we have no idea where that may be taking us, but we are just letting God take care of that. I'm so exhausted from a long day so I'm turning in for bed. Have a good night!

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookie Cups

i came across this recipe and I must make them immediately. they look amazing.

INGREDIENTS FOR CHOCOLATE CHIP BOTTOM LAYER
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 large eggs
2.5 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

INGREDIENTS FOR CHEESECAKE TOP LAYER
2 8-oz packages of cream cheese (16 oz total)
1 can of sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
mini chocolate chips

INGREDIENTS FOR WHIPPED CREAM
2 cups of heavy cream
1/4 cup confectioners sugar

ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS:
mini chocolate chips
optional: mint leaves for garnish

DIRECTIONS:

“First make the chocolate chip cookie dough. Beat butter, sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy, then beat in vanilla and eggs. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then slowly stir into the butter mixture. Add chocolate chips and chill for 30 minutes or freeze until ready to use.

Preheat Oven to 325 degrees F. Paper-line 24 muffin cups. Fill the bottom of each muffin cup with layer of cookie dough (approximately 1 tablespoon or more, depending on how thick you want the cookie crust).
Bake for 10-12 minutes until cookie crust has spread to the edge of the muffin cup.
In a medium-sized bowl beat cream cheese.
Add sweetened condensed milk.
Then add eggs & vanilla.
Beat all of the combined ingredients until smooth.
Spoon 3 tablespoons of cream cheese mixture over each cookie in cup.
Bake for additional 15 minutes or until cream cheese sets. Cool completely on wired rack and then place in the fridge to cool for at least an hour.
While the cheesecake cups cool, make the whipped cream. Whisk heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add confectioners sugar and whisk until combined. Cover tightly and refrigerate.

Once the cheesecake cups are cooled, place a dollop of whipped cream on top and sprinkle mini chocolate chips.
