Happy New Year

We are off to bring in the new year in Savannah. We are excited to go spend a mini vacation together. Jeff has never been so we are going to walk around and do a lot of touristy stuff and a lot of eating.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Bedside Tables

I am in dire need of night stands in our bedroom. We have a bunch of mismatched furniture combined from both of our college years because I don't want to buy anything until we get a house of our own. But it is driving me absolutely crazy not having a night stand next to the bed with a clock, lamp, and a place I can charge my phone instead of rolling over and reaching to the ground when my alarm goes off in the morning.

I am on the hunt whether Jeff likes it or not. I do not want a bedroom set that all matches each other when I buy one anyways, so I am going to buy us some bedside tables I can bring with us when we buy a house.

This is the front runner for lamps to go on either size of our bed. They will go perfectly with our serena and lily headboard.

I have my eye on a few different styles of night stands so we will see what I can come up with over the next month or two.

Red Velvet Cake Pops

I'm sure many of you have heard of cake balls or cake pops. They are quite delicious. I made them for the Christmas party and everybody loved them they were gone pretty quickly. I also did the same thing with oreos and made oreo balls which were delicious as well. Quite a few people asked for the recipe at the party so I figured I would post it for some of my friends and family members. I used the recipe from Kitchen Bellacious

1 box of red velvet
16 oz cream cheese frosting
white chocolate or dark chocolate

You need to bake the red velvet cake as said on the box. Once cooked you need to let them cool completely. My sister and I made homemade cream cheese frosting but you can just buy a can of it from the grocery store to make it easier.
You then crumble up the cakes and mix with the cream cheese frosting.

I used my hands which was a mess but seemed to work better. Once completely mixed you just roll little quarter size balls. If you are going to make pops out of them they need to be smaller but if not they really can be and size you want. I did both pops and balls.

Once you rolled you balls and put them on a cookie sheet you put your sticks in it and put in the freezer or refrigerator. Freezer works quicker and i would definitely recommend.

You melt the chocolate and just dip the balls in the chocolate and let it cool. It is extremely easy and they are delicious.

For my pops I just found a box from Christmas and wrapped it. I just poked holes in the box to hold my pops up.

You do the same thing with oreos. You just blend the oreos up until it is very fine pieces. You mix with 8 oz of cream cheese. Roll into balls, put in the freezer until hard then dip in chocolate. I am an oreo lover so I have to love these the most.

Christmas 2010

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas. We are so blessed to be able to spend our first Christmas as a married couple with our family and friends. It was nothing short of amazing.

Starting on Thursday Jeff and I went down to St. Augustine for the Night of the Lights to meet up with his mom and Aunt who was in town from Washington D.C. It was so pretty down there, we had dinner and then walked around for a little bit.

Friday was Christmas Eve and we went to Christmas Eve church with my family then out to dinner.
here is Jeff and I at my parents house ready to play some games

I am still a child when it comes to Christmas. I get so excited to open up presents. I knew what I was going to get from Jeff this year because I told him I really want Tory Burch flats or wedges. We were only suppose to do stockings this year because neither of us really needed anything. We woke up early and did our stockings then he said one more present which I knew was my Tory Burch shoes. I opened up the Tory Burch box and inside were a pair of my shoes from my closet. I said, "where are my Tory shoes?" He told me to keep looking in the box and I found this at the bottom of the box wrapped up

The David Yurman ring I have been wanting. I was super surprised and was not expecting it. I was so excited and this is the first time I think Jeff has ever tricked me with a present. It is beautiful.

We then got in the car to head to my moms house to open up presents. We got so much great stuff from my parents. Including our wedding album, which has taken so much time and effort from my amazing photographer. I took a couple pictures of it to share.

I love the leather wrapped around the back of the album.

Speaking of surprises my mom was surprised by my dad with this beauty...

Saturday night we had a joint Christmas party with my sister and her husband at her house. I took down all of my Christmas decorations from our house and brought them over to my sisters house to decorate. We have the greatest friends and were happy to spend the night and celebrate with all the people we love the most. Here are a few pictures from the night.

All in all it is crazy another Christmas Season has come and gone. I have one more week of vacation before I go back to work, so I am going to enjoy every minute of it.

Christmas Bar

I love this cute idea..

Merry Christmas

Christmas Break means me sleeping in to 930 or 10 which is glorious. I have got all of my Christmas shopping completely done except for one thing which I will be going to get today.
My brother is flying in today from Oklahoma to spend Christmas with us so that is exciting. It is crazy Christmas is almost here and Jeff and I have been married for almost a year. Time sure has flown.

I have started looking into places for our little Savannah New Years Eve trip. If anyone has any recommendations on places to eat or places to go I would appreciate it. I have only been once and I loved it, so Im excited to take Jeff for his first time.
We have already booked our hotels and one night dinner reservations at Vics on the River, which I have been too and was delicious. Everything else is sort of up in the air.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. I am off to go finishing up my shopping.

After a week of lively kids, christmas parties, crafts, glitter, glue and cold weather this is what I feel like. I am beyond ready for it to be 11:45 tomorrow and I am on Christmas Break. I will be back to the blogging world when I recover.

Burlap Ribbon

I bought this from pottery barn to go on my Christmas Tree minus the red stripes.

I did not like how it looked with the ornaments I purchased. So this is what it will turn into...

Christmas Party

My sister and I decided to start a tradition and have an annual Christmas party. Since we are just renting a house from my parents, which would not be big enough to house a party we decided to have it at my sisters house this year. We thought what better day than to have it Christmas Night. After opening presents and maybe family Christmas Dinner friends are always looking for something to do and when everyone is in town for the holidays we thought what a better way than to spend it together.

We sent out the invites which I got designed by a great girl off of etsy! I am obsessed with reindeers this season, which I have passed on to the kids in my class because we are constantly making reindeer arts and crafts. We are making a super cute one on Thursday out of stockings and a hanger I will have to post pictures once the kids make it at our class Christmas party.

here is our invites..

Thanksgiving Recap

I forgot to post about Thanksgiving. My sister and I made the Pumpkin Cheesecake together and it took both of us to get this baby done. Who knew how many steps are involved when making a cheesecake. But believe it or not it turned out delicious with ZERO cracks in it. I was super pleased. I set up the dessert spread with Apple Pie, Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Turtle brownies and chocolate chip cookies. We were all so stuffed for dinner that we really did not eat to much dessert.

But here are the only pics I took..

Love this Cake

I'm in love..

White Christmas

It sad to say, but I do not like a lot of color. When I have my own house it will be whites, beiges, some brown, black and maybe a few accent colors. So naturally when I went and bought ornaments for my christmas tree I only bought silver and clear ornaments.

But look how pretty a white christmas can be...
